DEONTAY WILDER should have fought Luis Ortiz in 2017 but the delayed fight is finally set to take place this weekend.
Deontay Wilder and Luis Ortiz will face off in Brooklyn on Saturday
The Canadian is the only man ever to have avoided a knockout against Wilder, although that was anything but the case when they met last year.
Stiverne stepped up to replace Ortiz, who failed a drugs test, but was knocked out in the first round after hitting the canvas three times.
Wilder will now finally get in the ring against the unbeaten Ortiz – and here’s everything you need to know about the fight.
When is Wilder vs Ortiz?
Wilder had been lined up for Eddie Hearn’s February 3 booking of the O2 Arena, where the British promoter had hoped to put him up against British heavyweight Dillian Whyte.
However, no deal was made and instead Wilder has a March 3 date with Ortiz booked at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
What time will Wilder vs Ortiz start?
As so often, the exact start time of the fight will depend on the progress of the undercard which features 11 bouts.
The pick of the contests looks to be Andre Dirrell vs Jose Uzcategui for the interim IBF world super-middleweight title, with the main belt held by Caleb Truax.
Wilder and Ortiz will follow with organisers hoping to get them on stage for 10pm local time in New York – which is 3am in the UK.
